Just thought I'd drop a hello. I'm still around but living in the middle of butt-"Oops"-no-where. Literally on a logging road, but loving it....aside from only dial up internet. Hopefully someday I may have the DSL option out here so I can trade some paint again, but I won't hold my breath on that.... |

Thats not a great excuse Curt, I have been stuck with dialup for years for pretty much the same reason, and it usually works good. Alot of RAM (3gb) and keeping your pc defraged and working good helps. You should look at our r-factor series too, warp has been almost non existant.
Good to hear from you.....now come on out and race! |

Yep, there's plumbing, but even funnier that you mention it, as outside this window, there's a cement pad with an old toilet gasket on top. Apparently there wasn't any indoor plumbing here originally, or they were too lazy to climb the stairs so they put an outhouse down there lol.
As for the dial up, I used to be able to race nascar 3 on dial up back in the day, but the dial up here is the worst I've ever encountered. It fluctuates and I'm lucky if I can get 40 kbps out of it. Usually it's around 30 so there's no possibility of using the dial up. (and yes I've tried several tweaks). I think the phone lines were salvaged from the bush when they installed them lol (the power lines WERE actually salvaged and pieced together!) |

Hey Curt,
Good to hear from you. You should come out and give it a try sometime. We have a few guys on dialup and it works ok for them, most of the time. Like Ron said rFactor works great with dialup, you can trade some paint with rFactor and we are only running a couple of times a month. So you should give it a try.
Stay in touch and hope to see you soon,
Wayne |
